Portofino Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into Portofino Restaurant in the heart of Marrakech feels like settling into a quietly vibrant neighborhood spot where time takes on an easy rhythm. Nestled along Av. Mohammed V, it offers an inviting refuge from the city’s bustling pace — a place where locals and travelers alike can linger over simple pleasures without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
The atmosphere here is warm and unpretentious, marked by friendly, attentive staff who move with an easy grace. Whether you find yourself seated inside or on the open balcony overlooking the street, the vibe carries a gentle hum of everyday life merging with relaxing moments. Evenings here seem to soften the city’s edge, gathering a mix of voices and laughter that welcome you to unwind. Though the street’s liveliness reaches the balcony, it only adds to the authentic pulse of Marrakech rather than detract from it.
Food at Portofino is an honest reflection of shared experience rather than a formal parade of dishes. The menu’s diverse offerings — from tender chicken pastilla and vibrant avocado-tuna salads to carefully baked eggplant parmesan and crispy pizzas — invite you to explore familiar flavors with a fresh sense of comfort. Drinks are served with ease, and there is a thoughtful sense that you can just sit back with a cold beer or fresh juice and watch the city’s stories unfold around you.
This balance between relaxed conviviality and simple, satisfying fare creates a feeling of connection — both to the place and to the moments passing by. Whether you come for a quiet lunch or a casual evening drink, Portofino holds a space that feels lived-in, welcoming, and quietly affirming.

I highly recommend. You can get beer and wine here, and cheaper than the other places we found. ...turns out this is the same place as Le Markech Cafe! The waiting staff were good and happy. I'd come here again for drinks, as it is quiet, not pushy and you can watch the world go by at a good price!

Nice place to relax in Marrakesh. Good atmosphere, especially in the evening, friendly waiters and good view. Might be a bit noisy if you're upstairs on the open balcony due to road proximity.

Eggplant Parmigiano was delicious. They baked the eggplant , not deep fried. No bread crumbs. Just tomato sauce and cheese. It's simple but so delicious. Anchovy and olive pizza came out the crust was just right thickness and crispy. Our waiter was helpful. We enjoyed our lunch Highly recommended

We had a very good dinner few days ago! The pizza was good, the salads too! We’ll come back again next time that we will be in Marrakech! The staff was adorable, so kind and available.

We were a party of five that had lunch at this great restaurant. We each had a different dish. My wife had the local dish of Pastilla au poulet. She said it was delicious. I had the beef ravioli. It was a great choice. Others in our group had a pizza, a steak and the lasagna. Everyone was happy. The service was quick and the prices were reasonable. Definitely would recommend when in the area.
